Credit cards are often a hassle, since the many cards available have many details. The best solution for getting the right credit card is going online and check out the reviews available. Millions around the globe often need the extra security and will often search for credit cards to use for travel, debt relief, and so forth. Let’s face it, in this troublesome world, none of us wants to carry cash.

Unfortunately, many will apply for credit cards without going over the details and find later that the rates of interest are more than they want to spend. The card seekers that rarely review, or take the extra time to search the marketplace for the lowest rates often regret the deals they receive later. Therefore, if you choose to go online to find a credit card, you should bare in mind that you could use the card to payoff bills that are late to avoid shutoff notices. When you have late bills or shutoff, notices there is often a fee included in the amount owed. To avoid paying the amount through a credit card, then you will need to search for a card will low interest rates and no annual fees.

Reviews are great, since you can read the many stories online, which will give you an idea of what details are included in various credit cards. Master Cards, Visa, Capital One, Gold cards and many other cards are available offering 0% APR. If you continue to read the information, you will notice that after an Introductory date the Annual Percentage Rates will increase. Therefore, you will need to review the cards offer carefully to avoid cards that become expensive later.

The unsecured credit cards and secured credit cards are available to lend a hand when cash is low. The cards can bring you rewards through programs and systems that include cash back and points. The point’s rewards after you have built up enough points can land you a vacation, including a trip to the Bahamas. The points can get you a new stereo system, a night out on the town and so forth. The cash back can add up after you earned enough scores to receive your rewards. Some cards offer up to 5% cash back up to one year and then offers 1% cash back after the year has ended. Therefore, you can see reviews are in order to find out more about the credit cards, offers, and what you can gain for having the cards.

Before you go online to review the different cards available to you, be sure that you go through a self-talk session to decide why you need the credit card? If you are needing a credit card to cover you during hard times then the choice to get a credit card is wise. However, if you are intended to use the card at leisure you could find your self in debt.

If you apply and are approved of a credit card make sure you use the card wisely, as well keep up your charges up to date. If you use your card and fail to repay the charges, you may be at risk of loosing your credit card; as well, you may find your self-facing debts. Once you get points against you on your credit report, it is nearly difficult to get the points reestablished. Therefore, you should always review your credit reports before applying for a credit card. If you have good credit you may qualify for any card online that is in line with your situation. However, if you have defaults on your credit report you may have to apply for a high-risk credit card.

Since all companies that offer loans or lines of credit will view your credit report, it is helpful to know your status before the companies learn what your credit rating is. Be sure to update any information on your on your credit report before applying for a credit card. If you have previous matters with your credit then you should look for a secured credit card service supplier. Secured credit cards necessitate an upfront deposit for collateral to ensure that you will repay your debt. If you continue to stay on target with your payments, you will improve the confidence of the credit provider, which will land you a higher credit line.

Credit cards can be a life savor when we are low on cash and we need something or when we want something and cannot afford to buy it. There are also ways to keep track of your spending when you use your credit card for purchases. A low rate credit card is the best choice for most people. Low rate credit cards have lower annual percentage rate that is charged to unpaid balances and they can save you money in the end.

How to get a low rate credit card

There are credit card offers all over the place. Most people get them all the time in the mail. There are usually one or two a week delivered right to your front door. When you get these offers, make sure that you read them over carefully and sometimes if they sound too good to be true, they just might be. Pay close attention to the annual percentage rate on unpaid balances and cash advances. There are also plenty of sites online that anyone can visit and apply for right online.

Balance transfers

There are lots of credit cards that offer a great low rate not only on purchases but also on balance transfers. Balance transfers are when you take the balance from higher interest credit cards and loans and transfer them to a lower annual percentage rate credit card. This is a great opportunity for anyone that is paying a fortune in interest every month. You can pay your monthly payment and actually see your balance decrease every month. Some credit cards offer great rate when you transfer a balance to a new card.

Low interest purchases

Credit cards with low interest rates are great to make purchases. This is especially true if you have a large expensive purchase to make. Sometimes it takes a few monthly payments before the balance is paid in full. Lower interest will help keep the balance on your loan down. There will not be a lot of interest accumulating on your card before the balance is paid in full.

Use your card anywhere

Credit cards are great because you can use them anywhere. You are less likely to find a place that does not accept credit cards than ever. Paying on time is the new way of getting what you want now without having to sacrifice another bill or obligation to get it. You will have a better feeling using a credit card with a lower interest rate because you know that you will not have a lot of interest to deal with. These cards will make your life a lot better and a lot less stressful.

Experts contend that as many as ten million individuals suffer identity thefts in a year.

In determining which credit card to choose, it’s best to know the purpose of getting the card. Credit card companies may offer cards to their clients that have flexible terms with varying annual percentage rates or APRs. In choosing a credit card, an individual will need to study carefully and understand the purpose for getting the credit card.

Different credit cards have different features, APRs, annual membership fees and promotions that they provide their users.

Some credit cards may offer low APRs with no annual membership on the first few years of use although these may change to higher APRs and varying membership costs after the expiration of their waived membership fees and low APRs. In this example, the use of this particular credit card may only be applicable for short term use as there may be other credit cards available that offers fixed lower than current industry’s standard APRs. There are also credit cards offered in the market that waives the annual membership fees on a longer term basis as long as the credit card user is able to meet specific purchase and payment targets.

There are credit card companies on the other hand that offers reward points that provides flexibility in choosing how the rewards will be redeemed. Rewards points accumulated from purchases can be redeemed in the form of gifts, appliances, furniture, or even travel miles. For a frequent traveler who’s also a frequent credit card user, he can maximize the rewards system provided by credit card companies that offers travel perks with their frequent flyer programs.

There are merchants in the business of retail that are also offering credit cards to help promote the sales of their products. A retail company selling products on the internet may offer credit cards under major credit card companies. While the credit card is technically a standard credit card that can be used in purchases from various establishments, the retail company that provides the credit card rewards the consumer with reward points depending on the amount of purchases made. The reward points accumulated then is converted to gifts, products or redeemable check amounts that can be redeemed for products from their stores on the internet.

In choosing which credit card a person will choose, it’s always best to understand the purchase habits the person has. A person who’s a frequent traveler can maximize his credit card use by subscribing to credit cards that offers air mile rewards. A frequent shopper on the other hand may benefit from his credit card by getting a card that his favorite merchant is offering and later on redeem the points accumulated from the merchant’s stores.

So you’ve gone through the long and terrible process of giving your details, only to find that you got turned down. This can feel a little insulting, like a rejection, especially if you feel like you could easily handle the card in question. So what can you do if it happens?

Try, Try Again.

Don’t get upset if you’re turned down at one company – they might have some strange requirement that you happen not to meet. Always try three before you start to despair.

Whatever you do, though, don’t spend a whole day applying for every credit card you can find, just to see if anyone will take you. Each check is counted, and lots of checks on your record make you look desperate, making it even less likely you’ll get a good card – this is known as ‘shotgunning’ your credit.

Get Your Credit Report.

Send off to the credit reference agencies to get copies of your credit reports. There might be something incorrect on there that’s making you look bad, and you need to get it corrected if there is. Make sure you do all this in writing, so there are records of it – don’t phone up and let them fob you off.

Phone the Company.

It’s not a good idea to always deal with credit card companies by post or on the Internet – you should try to phone them up and speak to a real person. This way, you can tell them all your circumstances, make sure everything went through correctly, and question them if you get turned down. If you directly ask why you haven’t been accepted, then they usually have to tell you.

If you’re willing to be pushy, you might even get the decision reverse. If the person you got through to won’t budge, then always ask for their supervisor before you hang up.

Apply for a Less Prestigious Card.

Yes, I know, it sounds bad – but you want a credit card, don’t you? Get a high-rate card from the company whose card you want, and then pay it off on time each month. You’re building your credit rating. The chances are that you’ll be able to persuade the company to replace your card with the lower-rate one after a few months.

If you have a very bad credit rating, you might find that you are only offered secured cards. These cards require you to make a cash deposit before you can start using them. It’s worth saving up the deposit and using the card for a while, though, as you’ll usually be offered a normal card quite quickly, as long as you don’t do anything terrible with the secured one.

If that all sounds like too much trouble, then you might like to try a pre-paid credit card. These cards must be loaded with money in advance, but from then on work like a normal credit card – except you don’t pay any interest or fees! Well worth it if you only wanted a card for the convenience anyway.

It can be as simple as going out with your friends one night to a restaurant. You pay for the bill was your credit card, go home and go to sleep. Everything seems okay. However, later in the month when you receive your statement, you find there have been charges made to your credit card for things you’ve never bought.

If this has happened to you, you have been victimized by a crime called identity theft. Someone has taken your personal information, which could be your name, credit card number, social security number, address or any of the above, without your knowledge. And they have used that information for fraudulent purposes.

With the right information, an identity thief can take money out of your bank account, make purchases on your credit cards, or even apply for a new credit card in your name. Since you only receive your credit card statements monthly, they can run up a lot of damage before you’re even aware it is happening.

Identity fraud is becoming even worse, since most transactions take place without having to be face-to-face. They can use your information to purchase goods online, over the phone or through the mail, making it easy to assume somebody else’s identity.

If you have suffered from identity theft, then it will take you many hours to reverse the fraudulent charges, and repair your bad credit. This can affect you for the rest of your life. If you have been victimized by identity theft, then you should do the following:

First, file a police report. Make copies of the police report to show the parties involved. Next, file a complaint with the Postal Service. This may help you locate where the goods that were charged to your credit card were shipped to. Finally, file a complaint with the credit bureaus.

And in specific cases, you can take certain measures related to the identity theft. For example, if checks are written by someone who assumed your identity, then you can send the report of your crime to the check verification company.

Credit cards can be hassle to understand when you have not researched all information to put the pieces together. Individuals around the earth from time to time need that extra hand and often they will look for credit cards to get them out of their troubles. Few ever consider the details laid out in the terms and conditions on credit cards, simply because they are overjoyed that they have hope for getting money.

The card seekers infrequently appraise or take the time to do research looking credit cards, including looking for the best low rate credit cards. Once they fill out the application and receive the card, after about a couple of months they realize they should have researched the marketplace carefully for better deals. If you make a decision to go online to apply for a credit card, keep in mind that you can employ the card to pay off delayed bills.

Researching the internet can help you to avoid unnecessary fees. The various cards online offer various rates. Few cards have no annual fees, while others may add annual fees. The cards offered are Variable, Tiered or Fixed rate cards. Do you know what this means? Do you know which card is more profitable for you? If you do not then you are making a mistake by applying for a credit card with no idea of what you are getting into. Variable Rate cards often change APR rates frequently and when the lender feels a need to change the rates. Fixed rate cards often never change rates, but if they do, they will notify you immediately of the changes. The Tier rate cards are tricky, since not many people are familiar with this type of card. The TIER rate cards arrange APR rats and put them in particular categories. Now, I am not going to tell you that the tier cards are better choice than the fixed rate cards, since I am not up to date on tier, but it is worth looking into.

Unsecured credit cards and secured credit cards are offered to lend a hand to those in credit need, still, each card has its own stipulations, APR, defaults charges and so forth. Few cards have upfront deposits, which are the cards you want to avoid, unless you have bad credit.

Reasoning

If you have preferred to apply for a credit card online, you should evaluate your intention to know why you want a major credit card. If you land a credit card, make sure you use the card wisely. It is important to pay your bills in full before the grace period to keep the fees and charges down. If you are delinquent, your credit is on the line.

Note: Before you choose to apply for a major credit card, review your credit reports to make sure you qualify for the cards you are applying for.

If you have past matters with your credit then you must seek a secured credit card lender, since most of the cards are more easily available to bad credit borrowers. Secured credit cards entail a deposit for assurance to make certain that you will repay your bills on time. If you keep your payments up you can improve the self-assurance of the credit card lender and be on your way to a higher credit line.

Credit Extended

Credit is sort of a gift. Someone is gambling on you, believing that you will uphold your side of the bargain. The gift is, that someone is sort of giving you opportunity to prove your self. If you let the lenders down the gamble they took will be higher than the first bet they placed on you. If you fail to make payments then the creditors has to go through the hassle of writing you continuously for possibly a couple of months, and then they make contact with the collection agencies, which includes tons of paperwork. Therefore, the gift of trust should not be taking lightly.

Finally, if you are searching for a credit card, make sure you do your checklist evaluation to get the best deals!

Identity number theft is becoming very common nowadays. In fact, the incidence of identity number theft has in increasing annually. You see and hear a lot about it from television, radio and newspapers and magazines. We see and hear about report of huge amounts of personal information being stolen by identity number thieves. The numbers being stolen include veteran number, social security number and credit card number.

Identity number thefts are one of the most controversial topics in this day and age of computers, emails and the Internet. The scariest thing about identity number theft is that it is a crime that can affect anyone. Indeed, there is great chance now more than ever that your personal information will be stolen by identity number thieves.

Therefore, the question in everyone’s mind is: How can we protect ourselves and our families from identity thieves? The first thing that any individuals wanting to be protected from identity number theft must do is to be informed and educated. Each and everyone of us should be aware of the procedure o protect our personal number from identity number thieves.

Below are some tips on how to protect yourself from identity number theft.

1. One of the best way you can do to protect yourself from identity number theft is to avoid providing personal information from individual you talk to, especially to strangers. Giving personal information to people you do not know can have very disastrous consequences for you.

2. If you are in a public place, be very discreet about the financial events happening in your life. These event include big ticket purchase, capital investments, stocks or property acquisition, etc. Talking about financial events in public can lead to unwanted interest on your finances.

3. Leave you check book or check register in a safe place in your home or office. Never carry your check book or check register with you when you go out. If you must carry a check, then just bring one or two blank checks in your wallet. There have been many reported cases of identity number theft stemming from stolen check books.

4. Have your Social Security Number memorized so you wouldn’t have to carry your SS card with you always. Carrying your SS card all of the time increases the risk of it being lost or stolen. If that happen you will be making yourself vulnerable to identity number theft.

5. If you have several credit cards, do not carry all of them with you. Bring only one or two credit cards when you go out. This would minimize the chance of you credit being stolen and of you becoming a victim of identity number theft.

6. such as social security numbers, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, passwords, etc on your laptops or desktops personal computers. If you must write it down in a document then secure it with a password or delete it before turning off your laptop or personal computer.

7. Avoid charging a high bill on one credit card. This could lead to unwanted attention on your finances. Try to use two cards on expensive purchase.

8. Limit your use of Automated Teller machines (ATM). When you use the ATM be sure that the person behind you does not see the transaction you are making. ATM is another hot place for identity number thieves.

Credit card fees are on the rise. Each year the companies are increasing the rates of interest and the fees. People from all walks of life are hunting for low interest credit cards to substitute their income. Credit interest rates however are reaching as high as 17.99% and up. If you have bad credit you are subject to pay high interest rates, over rated fees, and receive a low credit line. The line of credit offered to most debtors is not enough to cover the months rent, let alone to pay utilities. The minimal amount may save you from shut-off notices, or late fees on delinquent bills, but you will make up the difference when you pay the balance on the credit cards.

The companies that lend credit cards are like many people in the world. The more money the make, the more money they want, therefore some companies will go to all lengths to get more for offering less. At 17.99% APR you would pay around $23.598 for a $20 dollar item. Now the price does not appear to be a lot, but over the course of a year, you will pay $83.176 for each twenty-dollar item you purchased. If you used the car to pay utilities to avoid shut-off or late charges, you would pay $323.82 each year on a $150 monthly bill. If you were in debt already, how much leverage would you have if you used that extra cash to pay off a debt? You could build you credit just as easy by making small payments toward your bill. If you creditors refuse to accept low payments, keep the receipts and when that company tries to give you any problems, such as take you to court you will have ammunition.

Other cards are available to individuals that do not have debt issues. However, everyday there are reports of people filing bankruptcy for using credit cards. Millions of people every year are searching for debt consolidations and bankruptcy to relieve them of their debts. The credit cards may seem appealing, but in the end, those pieces of plastic can cost you a fortune.

One of the better solutions for building credit is to contact your creditors, ask for extensions on your debts, or simply ask for dismissal. Many creditors rather work with you directly than deal with collection agencies, and will often make room for you to repay your debts.

Credit cards are entrapments that set you up for a long ride to the debt agencies. Once you land in the long-arms of the collection agencies, you might wish you took another course that applying for a credit card to relieve debt.

Rich people have credit cards, believing it is a sure-fired way of keeping their credit alive and elevating. However, millionaires have found that credit cards are more debts they regret later. Some people use their credit cards to purchase new vehicles, all to find out that the high rates and fees on the card are more than bearable.

When a person works hard all his life and later pays out every dime he makes, it often leads to additional problems. Hundreds of people have committed suicide simply because they could not see a way out of debt. Credit card fees they could not repay bound a large number of the deceased. Therefore, that piece of plastic might turn into a monster later.

If you must have a credit card make sure, you do not go over your limit. Keep the purchases low so that you can repay the debts before the grace period. Also, make sure that you only use the card for what you need. If you need to use the card to pay late bills or prevent shut-offs be sure that you save money during the grace cycle, which is commonly 25 days to payoff the card. Following this guideline will help keep cost down. In addition, if you spend less on the card, the company will not get more later. A final word of caution is to keep your cards where no one else can get them and never give anyone your PIN.

Credit card providers are obligated under the law to protect their clients’ identity and information. Recently, California courts laid a lawsuit on one of the leading card providers for negligence in security. According to various reports, more than millions of people were robbed of their identity, due to negligence of the card providers. Therefore, understanding disclosure on credit cards is essential, since your Identity is at risk. To make matters worse, the company-pending suit neglected to inform their cardholders that their identity was at risk. The downside is anyone can tell you that the security level of their system is bulletproof, but once the curtains fall, you might find your self in a whirlpool of subpoenas, courts, lawyer offices and so forth.

From personal experience, I can tell you that once you loose your identity you might as well jump off the nearest cliff if you cannot battle the problems that come along with identity theft. The problems can last a lifetime, and if you are lucky, you may restore your life after eight or more years.

Credit Card Tips for Security

If you have a major credit card, store the card in a safe location. Forget that ‘never leave home without it’ crap, rather leave home with your credit card only if you feel you will need it for an emergency, or if you are going on a trip. Only use your cards at places that are proven trustworthy. Stores that ask for your ID before using your credit card are safer than stores that do not bother to ask for picture ids. If the stores fingerprint you, do not be offended, since this is for your best interest. If the stores do not fingerprint you, then you may be worrying later.

If you use your credit card online, make sure the site offers secure encryptions. There are a couple of ways to tell if the site is secured. One way, is to look for a lock and key, usually found in the lower corner of the web page. If this symbol is there, then the site has a measure of security. However, if the sites have https:// in the search engine, then the security is even better. The’s’ stands for security.

Credit cards are like gold, if you own one you must treat the card as if it is a precious piece. If anyone gains control over your credit card, you are subject to identity theft. Since most stores will not fingerprint, ask for PIN numbers, or IDs, you can never tell what your risks are if someone gets your credit card.

If you notice any activities on your credit card, statements that do not appear to be your own contact your credit card provider immediately. The card provider, if you took the time to research and learn, should have fraud insurance coverage. Some cards will charge minimal $50 if your card is stolen, while others claim to offer 100% Fraud protection plans. Regardless, if your company tries to make you pay for the fees on the credit card and you have proof the fee is not yours. DO NOT pay the charge. Your credit card provider should have giving you a procedure, Terms & Conditions and other material once you were accepted for your credit card. Pull out that procedures guide and read it carefully, searching for Fraud protection and relative details to learn what you can do to protect your self.

There are companies that are defrauding people, and few companies may tell you that the laws stipulate that it is your obligation to pay the bill, even if you were not the person that created the fee. This is not true, and we can all hope it will never be true. Finally, if you notice any wrongful activities on your statement, close your accounts immediately to avoid additional fraud attacks. Some card providers may put up a fight if you try to close the account, but again read all the information provided with your credit card, and contact a qualified attorney if necessary. Last word of advise. Identity theft predators are claiming the life of millions all over the world each day.

What it does mean is that your credit card application can usually be approved within minutes.

The approval process takes, as stated above, only a few minutes, but it takes time before you actually receive your credit card in the mail. It’s usually about a week to ten days before it arrives. Though you can’t use your new credit card within that time frame, you do have the advantage of knowing it has been approved.

With instant approval credit cards you have the convenience of receiving your card quickly. In times past, you had to apply for the card and wait weeks while your credit history was run and the approval process took place. On top of that time frame, you had to wait for the credit card company to send out your card. Applying for an instant approval credit card is fast and convenience in today’s market.

One advantage of applying for an instant approval credit card online is that you can research a wide range of credit cards to find the one that is best for you. You can compare interest rates and fees freely and also check for other advantages and disadvantages of the cards you are considering.

There are limits on the applicants who are eligible for instant approval credit cards. Originally, these cards were targeted at consumers who had a perfect credit history. If your credit rating is excellent, you won’t have any trouble being instantly approved. Today things are a little different. The competition between credit card companies is very high and there are some companies who are willing to take the risk on a less than perfect applicant in order to get their business. What this means is that you may be instantly approved even if your credit rating is less than perfect. If this is the case and you are approved, use extreme caution and make sure you pay all of your payments on time to assure your credit history is protected.

If you wish to apply for an instant approval credit card online, use a search engine to search for ‘instant credit card approval’, or ‘instant approval credit cards’. The results will be more than you wished for. Then, compare the annual and membership fees, interest rates and other advantages and disadvantages of the cards you are considering. Once you find the best card for you, click on ‘apply’ fill out the online form and click the ‘submit’ button. You will have your answer within a few minutes.

As with all other credit cards, you have responsibilities with an instant approval card. Be sure to always pay your credit card bill before the due date and, if possible, pay the entire balance each month to save on interest fees. This will assure you keep your instant approval credit card in good standing and in addition it will look great on your credit rating.

More than half of all the identity thefts take place in business related settings. Because of the alarming rates of identity theft especially in business, training on privacy as well as security of nonpublic personal information to all employees is now a requirement by law that makes it mandatory to implement procedures, policies, and measures that will make sure identity theft is brought under control by all means. Substantial penalties will be passed onto those who violate or who are noncompliant to the new laws.

The misuse of business or personal identifiers by an imposter for their own advantage, be it financial or non-financial and at times both, is what identity theft is all about. The identity thieves use business identifiers such as the federal Tax ID of the business, the business account details, the business name, business indicia, as well as personal identifiers of the business employees which can be used to authenticate the business identity to their advantage that could lead to either financial or nonfinancial misuse of the business.

Most of the identity theft crimes committed by use of Federal identifier or a name can go undetected for a long time, that even the best businessman or individual could take months if not years to realize the crime. The most common identity theft crime known to the public is the misuse of a credit card to commit existing account fraud. However, establishing new finances in the victims name is one of the most devastating identity theft crimes that could leave the victim with severe consequences, not only to themselves but to their employers as well as their families.

Victims of identity theft not only suffer financial losses but also extreme emotional stress, and spend as much as 600 hours trying to resolve the situation not to mention spending over 1,500 dollars in expenses excluding legal fees. Businesses are more vulnerable to identity theft when their clients, customers or employees get victimized. The identity theft could also lead to misuse of the business identity that could lead to security breach, financial or legal consequences.

When a business employee becomes a victim of identity theft, there is a risk of public credibility, and serious impact on the financial and general income of the business. Identity theft in business has more severe consequences that could lead to civil law suits, loss of business, loss of work time as well as facing fines.

As a result of the prevalent identity theft in places of business, most of the businessmen are now offering identity theft insurance to their customers as well as employees as a counter measure that is able to help them guard against identity theft of their employees, as well as their business.

There is much controversy over whose responsibility it is when something goes wrong in internet banking. Banks sometimes step up and hold themselves accountable for security measures as they should. Other banks want to lay the burden on the consumer.

You do have rights as a customer of internet banking. For example, a phishing scheme might lure you into giving out your personal information. This, in turn, could result in your internet banking account being raided.

Internet banking companies are quick to point out that it is your responsibility to keep your username and password secure. It must be un-guessable in the first place. You must never write it down. You must tell no one. It is your consumer right to keep this information to yourself and not divulge your password to a bank employee.

You might be wondering who is responsible. After all, you did fall for the scam, not your internet banking establishment. You were the one who gave out all that information. However, there is a regulation of the federal government that can help you. It is referred to as Reg-E.

This is the Federal Reserve Board’s Regulation E. It covers all kinds of situations revolving around transfers made electronically. The most important thing to remember about Reg-E is that you will recover your internet banking losses according to how soon you discover them.

For instance, you might get your internet banking statement, see that fraud has taken place, and report it immediately. In this case you will be required to recover your money. Yet, you could get your statement, let it set on the server for two weeks without looking at it, and then discover fraud. In this case, you would get less of your money back.

The longer you waited, the less you would get. At some point, you would lose everything in the account plus overdraft charges. That is why it pays to take a quick look at your internet banking account frequently. Even if you do not have time to go over every transaction, you will often notice discrepancies that you can report.

If you wait two days or less from the time you get your official internet banking statement, you will only be liable for the first $50. Another day and the price goes up to $500. After 60 days, you have no recourse through the bank. You would actually have to find the perpetrators of the crime, bring them to justice, and be awarded compensation.

Furthermore, your internet banking is protected in ways that traditional banks are always protected. You should receive safeguards to your personal banking such as the Fair Credit Opportunity Act. The Truth in Lending and the Truth in Savings Acts are important to internet banking customers to assure that they get what they have agreed to. Banks in this country are also required to have FDIC insurance.

Most internet banking companies are on the level. They are trying to establish a name for themselves through tight security. Barring that, they seek to remedy the situation with great customer service. Find a bank like this and you will have no problem getting them to respect your consumer rights.

Some people could not be happier with internet banking. Others fear it and want no part of it. Sometimes these people will give you reasons for their fears. Other times, they will just say they do not like it and leave it at that.

Some people are simply shy. They do not want to even get on the internet, much less do internet banking. These people often see the internet as a vast community of people that do not know them. Perhaps this is more alarming to those who have grown up in tight-knit communities.

At any rate, shy people will avoid internet banking because they feel embarrassed about what they are doing. It is not that they are doing anything wrong. It is just that they feel scrutinized by a larger group of people than they would at their local bank.

If these people can understand that their internet banking transactions are their own private business, they will be less alarmed. If they can see that the internet is not a tool to make them feel embarrassed, they can begin to get comfortable with it. Some of these people eventually overcome their fears and become the most avid internet banking customers.

Other people are afraid that using their computer for internet banking will lead them to obsess over money. They feel that if the information is available to them at all times, they will have a hard time ignoring it. They think they will be consumed about every little thing that is happening with their account.

Some people may actually have this problem at first. The answer is to set limits on your internet banking time. Do not check over your account more than once a day unless you have a very good reason to do so. Take time to write out what those reasons would be limited to, and then stick to it. Eventually, the new will wear off and reasonable internet banking use will prevail.

One fear is that internet banking will lead the person to deal in a paperless business environment. They fear that if they do not have written proof of transactions, they will lose the ability to prove anything. They want the control a piece of paper seems to give them.

The truth is that internet banking does not have to be completely paperless. For those who want a paper trail, it is easy to construct one. You can print off transactions. You can keep ATM and debit receipts. You can print off a monthly statement. You can even print off a copy of a given check, in most cases.

Most people have some fears about internet banking security. Indeed it is a difficult business keeping up with those who would break into the virtual vaults. However, with encryption, firewalls, and other forms of security, banks are making internet banking fairly secure. They are constantly working to better security too.

It is good if fears about internet banking can be overcome. Internet banking is a useful tool to make life easier for those who employ it. If you are hesitating about starting an internet banking account, be courageous and give it a try.

When you’re looking at a credit card offer, take a look at the small print – it seems like a maze, but it’s vitally important. With the trend nowadays towards easier-to-read ‘summary boxes’, there aren’t as many excuses for ignoring the terms as there used to be. Anyway, credit card lenders are devious, and there are plenty of things there designed to catch you out – here’s what you should be on your guard against.

Annual Fees.

Even though you’re already paying them interest, many credit cards still charge you an annual fee. It’s not as common as it once was, but it’s still around. You should be especially careful to check for fees on Gold and Platinum cards – even though they’re not that hard to get any more, they still tend to charge much higher fees than normal cards.

Penalty Charges.

Pay attention to what kind of fees you’ll be charged for a late payment, or if you take a cash advance, or if you accidentally exceed your limit on the card. Some cards have unjustifiably high fees, and you shouldn’t sign up for them.

Interest Method.

This is one of the most overlooked of all the things in the small print, just because it’s so hard to understand. Essentially, every company has a slightly different way of working out how much interest you should pay each month. There are three main methods:

With the ‘adjusted balance’ method, you are charged interest on whatever your balance was when the company sent the bill. Another version of this is the ‘previous balance’. You’re charged interest on your balance as it stood at the end of the billing cycle before this one, regardless of how much you’ve spent or paid off since. Odd, but easier to understand.

Then there’s the average daily balance. This is the most complicated, but also the most common now. Your balance from the end of each day in the billing cycle is added up, and then divided by how many days there were, and interest is charged on this amount. This method is only good for you if your balance jumps around a lot, as it avoids you paying lots of interest on a balance that just happened to be large on the billing date.

Also, make sure you look at the rate of interest each month, instead of just relying on the APR. The APR is an estimate of the total cost of borrowing – it is the monthly interest plus the various charges that will show you exactly how much you would pay.

Grace Period.

Check that the card you’re looking at has a grace period on purchases. Otherwise, you could end up being charged interest from the minute you spend. Almost no cards have a grace period on cash advances or credit card cheques, however.

Currency Conversion Fees.

If you plan to use your card abroad, you should take a look at how much the card charges for transactions made in other currencies. Some cards can be much more expensive than others.

Identity theft is a crime that has been on the rise in the recent past. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the rate of this particular crime has gone up considerably as compared to the past. Identity theft involves obtaining by wrongful means another person’s information or data and using it to commit fraud at the expense of the owner. There are various types of identity theft. Medical theft is one such type. This involves obtaining by wrongful means medical information and or records of another person with the sole intention of gaining at the expense of that person.

Research carried out recently indicates that the most common form of medical identity theft involves wrongful or erroneous entry of medical information of a particular person. The danger of medical identity theft is not only the fraud involved but also the fact that it could lead to fatal results, since it could lead to wrong diagnosis thus wrong medication. A case of medical theft is more complex than it is even for financial theft and fraud, the reason being it may not be easy to recover the damage done through the medical identity theft.

Medical identity theft is not easily detected and can take the victim a couple of years before realizing the mishap. It is unfortunate however, to note that even after discovering the error, victims of medical identity theft do not have clear means through which they can recover the money lost through medical identity. In addition, there are no legal provisions to allow such victims to be allowed to correct any error or wrongful information that may be in their medical records.

Medical identity theft as mentioned earlier can lead to adverse effects including death due to alteration of the medical records. Some of the information that is of interest to impostors of medical identity theft includes information regarding health insurance. Medical identity theft is classified into two major categories namely financial and medical. Medical theft is where the medical information of the fraudster is mixed up with that of a genuine patient, and thus the medical records contain numerous errors. Financial theft on the other hand involves medical bills that one is unaware of. Most health institutions are always able to deal with the financial aspect of medical identity theft as opposed to the medical effects.

There are various reasons as to which people commit medical identity theft. While for most it is a case of desiring to have their medication controlled, for others it is the desire to have an unwarranted medical cover for which they would not qualify for in normal circumstances. Medical identity theft is thus the most serious type of identity theft.

Credit is important more so now than ever. Each one of us requires credit for virtually everything we pursue. Even if a person is rich and spend money, never adding anything on your personal credit report; later down the road when you need help, most creditors will turn you away. The three major credit bureaus that store credit reports where consumers can get copies of their personal credit reports. The companies are Equifax, Trans Union, and Experian.

After you review your credit reports, you can determine what type of cards you need to apply. If you have bad credit or no credit there are credit card providers’ accessible to help you mend your credit. Techniques existing that allow debtors the ability to make small monthly installments, which are distributed to the various creditors where you owe money. The plans will continue until the amount is paid in full.

Let’s get real. No matter where we go in life, somewhere down the road we are going to need to fill out a form to request credit. Once you apply for credit, the lender will request copies of your credit reports from the three B’s. There is no way to escape the truth. Therefore, we must always keep track of our credit reports and ratings to ensure our future financial situations are free of hassle and rejections. There are companies available that offer FREE annual credit reports, but if you have already received a copy then you will need to apply for a credit report at the bureaus and are subject to pay a small fee. If you have applied for credit in the past six months and was rejected then you qualify free credit reports.

Once your receive copies of your credit reports, review each report carefully, argue any defaults that are not yours, and start repairing your credit by paying down the debts. Few credit repair experts may offer free credit reports and will offer to monitor and repair your credit. Few of these companies charge outrageous fees, or some may charge low fees. Still, the local library provides step-by-step details for credit repair, allowing debtors to handle the process them self. Don’t get lowered into a scheme, take it upon your self to handle your own debts free.

If you are in need of a major credit card, you might want to apply for a high-risk card. Regardless of the situation that put you in debt, few ever appeal to the humanity behind the debtor. Therefore, high-risk lenders are less demanding in some instances, and will review humanity vs. debts. The lenders are aware that situations occur that causes consumers to fall behind. Debts can be resolved and many people will apply for credit cards to build their credit. Therefore, high-risk lenders are the idea places to visit if you need a major credit card.

Still, if you have first-rate credit it pays to store a copy of your credit report in a safe place and continue to ask for updates periodically. First, you never can tell when you will need copies to make purchases. Second, if you have copies of your reports and monitor the reports you can prevent Identity Theft, fraud or other illegal activities on your credit. Let’s face it, there are companies existing that will go to all lengths to increase their income, and that includes charging consumers for products they never purchased.

If you choose to go online to request, a copy of your credit reports stay alert, since few companies are out to take consumers for a ride. Make sure the Lock and Key is at the bottom of the web page. If the Lock and Key exists then the site is secured. You can also determine the security by looking in the search engine noticing the http:// and if that URL has security then it will read https://. Protect your identity and get your credit report without future complications, before applying for credit cards online.

In conclusion, credit cards are a responsibility and should never be taking advantage of to avoid debt!

Most people will strive to build and maintain a spotless credit record. The benefits associated with it are numerous and well known, as are the disadvantages in for those who no longer have it.

But what can you do if somehow you get some bad marks on your credit report? All is not lost, but it will take pretty long for you to restore it. You should know that all bad marks stay on your credit report for seven years (and bankruptcy is mentioned on it for ten years). However, it is possible to start rebuilding your credit history and, if you do well, you won’t have to wait seven years to enjoy the benefits of those considered low-risk borrowers. But you shouldn’t fall into the other extreme either, imagining that you can repair your credit rating in a few weeks or a couple of months. The ads you see, promising to restore your credit record in 30 days, are nothing but scams. They lure people into making large upfront payments and then offer solutions that are either illegal, or that could have been found for free with a bit of research. Any reputable credit counselling agency will tell you that rebuilding your credit history will take a few years.

If you’re just starting to build your credit history, then setting up a checking and a savings account is a first good step. Not having these accounts will earn you fewer points in your credit score. If you’ve never owned a credit card before, you should consider starting with one that charges a low interest rate and has a credit limit that you can easily manage. Make sure you don’t borrow more than you can repay, and keep your balances within safe limits. In time, you’ll get additional credit cards – most people typically own between two and four. Using them responsibly will improve your credit rating, because it will prove to lenders that you are credit worthy.

If you’ve had problems in the past, you may have to start rebuilding your credit history by applying for a secured credit card. In time, if you are not late with your payments, you’ll be able to own a regular credit card again.

A simple general rule is to keep your debt to income ratio below 20% and not too file too many credit applications. The reason is that each inquiry for a loan or a credit card will be mentioned in your credit report. While there is no rule as to how many inquiries you can safely have, more than four over the past year will probably cause you to lose some points from your credit score.

If you’ve lived in the same home for at least four years, or if you’ve worked for the same employer for at least five, that will also help you gain points.

You should read your credit report carefully, to make sure there are no inaccuracies on it. You should ask for a copy from all three credit reporting agencies, just to be safe.

Good financial behaviour is the key to building a spotless credit history. It doesn’t require any special skills, just care and responsibility.

Small business credit cards were designed to help those families and individuals that often have difficulty getting credit lines, since they own their own business. You would think that owning a small business would spark some interest, rather these people, like those will bad credit are considered risky candidates for credit lines. In this article, we are going to review some of the small business credit cards, what they offer and why some cards are not your best options.

The Gold Delta SkyMiles Small Business Cards are one of the cards that may not benefit you, since the APR: Prime + 9.99% have recently increased to 13.99%. The Balance Transfer APR on the Gold Delta is 9.99% fixed rates for the endurance of the ‘balance, and for the balance transfers made up to six months of the cards membership. The annual fees on few of these cards start at $85 for the standard cardholder. This applies also to additional cards, ‘unless you are the cardholder’ that qualifies for the “Business Charge Card Product.” In this case, your annual fees are reduced to $30 for the standard cards. Of course, they present a slick by offering the cards to small business owners for the first year, free. You must have good credit ratings to apply for this card. Otherwise, the fees may increase, if you are able to get the card.

The Business Gold Card from OPEN: the Small Business Network has no financial charges, with no pre-set limits for spending, and the first year the card is free. The annual percentage rates are free for the Additional cards also. The company will send you a monthly ‘expense management report’ as well as offering ‘online account management. Again, you must have good credit to qualify for the Business Gold.

The Platinum Business Cards from American Express have no annual fees, and “pay over time” plus 0% APR up to nine months on all purchases made on the card plus the balance transfer. The card is good for small business owners that have good credit.

The Blue Cash for Business Cards offer 5% cash rebates and enable you to earn money back on eligible purchases on the credit card. The small business owners are offered a 0% introductory APR on all purchases up to the first six months. The cards have a ‘built-in smart chip for Internet security,’ and have no limits on the cash rebates. This card qualifies small business owners with good credit.

Let’s stop and review the cards shortly to see which cards are best for you? I’m considering the last card on the list, since the Blue Cash for Business Cards offer cash back rewards, and does not appear to have an annual fee. However, I would read the Terms & Conditions, since it might state in the agreement that an annual fee will apply after the first year. You want to know what the fee is on this card. The cards that promote annual fees are cards you want to be careful of when applying, since some have hidden stipulations and fees. The card offers a 0% APR for six months, but what APR will you pay after the six months has ended? The “Built-in Smart chip for Internet Security is also appealing, since this is not always offered with credit cards, and the security is worth paying an annual fee, since you are protected. NOTE: be sure to look in the Terms & Agreements, searching for Fraud Protection. Since the card providers put a chip on the card of course you are protected more so if you didn’t have the chip; still you want to know what the fees if any are if the card is lost or stolen. There should not be any fees; however, some card providers will do their best to get money.

The three preceding cards may be of some value, however, the offers do not seem appealing since you have high interest rates possibly after the Introductory, and as well, you have annual fees with no rewards.
